soft belly/steel exposes the precarious tendrils of support that connect bodies together to create structures of survival. The work positions the performance space as an autonomous world where the cast of movers can access the vulnerability typically suppressed under patriarchal hegemony. Working collaboratively through a structure of games and competitive tasks, dancers play within an invisible, kinetic logic. Moving through states of power, precarity, delicacy, and brutishness – the collective performing body casts an energetic spell to submerge into an interconnected consciousness.

Colliding, morphing, and binding – Sinew thickens the space between bodies and vibrates the invisible tissues between us. We amplify the sensitivity of our receptors so that each pulse catalyzes and shifts our mode of being. On an ever-changing ride of urgent momentum, Sinew tips us to our edge and throws blasts into our pathways. It cultivates a collective body between performers and witnesses that heaves and vibrates, urging an adaptive tensegrity that resonates beyond the choreographic world.

Grieving Landscapes: A Collaborative Installation

Resting Desert asks how the body generates the endurance necessary to live with daily grief. Drawing on a circular sense of time and relationship to self, this performance disrupts the urgency of the healing process and emphasizes the effort of healing. How do we sustain the weight of continual but evolving grief cycles? Rather than an exercise of futility, what do these cycles carve space for?

No Where investigates the utility of movement to transform the relationship to the self for bodies impacted by gender-based violence. Through physical problem-solving, a practice of subverting a knot over and over again as a declaration of unapologetic agency, I aim to disrupt systems that restrict bodily autonomy.
